American-made solid oxide fuel cells for clean, on-site data center power.
Early-stage development
A solid oxide fuel cell converts fuel directly into electricity through an electrochemical reaction across a ceramic electrolyte. With no combustion, it runs quietly, emits very little NOx or particulates, and reaches electrical efficiencies above 50%, with high-grade waste heat that can be put to work in cooling or combined heat and power.
Elumis Energy plans to design and manufacture SOFC systems in the United States, built specifically for data centers that need firm, scalable power on site. Systems will run on pipeline natural gas today, with a path to biogas and hydrogen as those fuels become available.
Each module packages fuel processing, the SOFC stacks and power electronics into one factory-built enclosure. Modules ship ready to connect, sit in rows beside the data hall, and add capacity one block at a time as load grows.
Our systems are being designed around a US manufacturing base and a domestic supply chain. Fuel cell property that begins construction from 2026 through 2032 is eligible for a 30% federal Investment Tax Credit under Section 48E of the Internal Revenue Code, and Elumis Energy products are being developed to meet those requirements.
A domestic supply chain also means shorter lead times, supply security and fewer exposure risks from foreign sourcing for our customers.
We’re in an early stage of development and welcome conversations with investors, technology partners and data center operators.
